Frequently asked questions
Clear answers for patients and authorized family members before starting care.
What types of visits are available?
TeleAcne can offer structured photo assessments, live video visits, and appointments at configured Tampa-area clinic locations. Availability depends on the service, clinician, patient location, and clinical need.
Can a clinician diagnose acne from photographs?
Photographs can support eligible asynchronous evaluations, but they are not always sufficient. The clinician may request better images, video, in-person examination, tests, or outside referral.
Does the availability check create an account?
No. A portal account is created only after contact verification, duplicate review, and a valid booking or portal-access reason.
Can I book a clinic visit online?
Yes, when an eligible service, provider, time, and location are available. Online-created clinic bookings use online card payment or supported insurance; cash is not offered online.
When is cash allowed?
Only when a patient is physically present and reception creates a new in-person walk-in appointment. Existing online bookings cannot simply be converted to cash.
Can I use insurance?
Only for supported payer, clinician, location, and service combinations. Eligibility information is not a payment guarantee and prior authorization may still be required.
What if I lose internet during a form?
The launch system caches only static application files. Sensitive offline clinical drafts are disabled until the required device, encryption, revocation, conflict, and clinical-safety controls are approved.
Can I send acne photos by email?
No. Use the authenticated patient portal and its approved upload workflow.
Is a prescription guaranteed?
No. Prescriptions are based on the clinician’s assessment, safety review, legal requirements, and clinical appropriateness.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 911 or seek appropriate local emergency care. TeleAcne is not an emergency service.
